From April through November, you may rent a canoe from Brown County Wilderness Canoe Rental, located just four miles from Story, Indiana in scenic Brown County. No need for shuttle service. You can drive right to the canoe launch, and when you return leave the canoe and drive away. Come explore nameless tributaries blocked by beaver lodges, or paddle, if you like, all the way to Lake Monroe! Keep your eyes peeled for cranes, wild turkeys, coyotes and deer, or maybe a glimpse of a bald eagle. Don't forget your fishing pole!
